The Hand-Crafted Mountain

Districts of Kani (Kantni), Bantkyi, Pakan, and Yaysakyoe, along the Chindwin River, are widely known for its stone-made hand-crafts. Mount Phowun is one of them.

Mount Phowun locates in Yinmarpin Township, Sagaing Division. The whole mountain was crafted by hand, not using a machinery tool. Buddha images, floweral grosteques, caves, chapels, even monastries are curved out of the solid rock itself! Isn't that amazing?
